THE HULL THAT CHANGED THE WORLD
In 1960, the Miami-Nassau powerboat race was run in conditions called hellish, even by the standards of the Gulf Stream. Seas ran eight feet or more that day, and the wind blew 30. A 30’ wooden prototype with a constant 24 degree deadrise started the race. Eight hours later, when Moppie crossed the finish line two hours ahead of the only other boat to finish at all, she had made history. C.Raymond Hunt’s design had set a new bar and powerboating was set on a new course. The Hunt 54′ is the direct descendent of that boat and the product of C. Raymond Hunt Design Associates. Since that history-making day,the portfolio of the Hunt Design office has grown long and impressive, including work for the most discerning yachtsmen in America, the US military, the NY Police Department, and countless commercial ship pilots. This body of work creates for us a vast database of successful design elements from which we can draw to create a hull that is predictably well-balanced, high-performing, efficient and suited to its task.
While military and commercial vessels are called upon to serve in conditions you as a pleasure boater may never see, or want to, make no mistake, the design and the structural elements of the Hunt 46 come from this hearty stock. The DNA of the Hunt 54′ assures that you will get where your heart desires, and safely back again. So when you’re skimming along the whitecaps or outrunning an approaching storm, or just beating your buddies to the best mooring in the field, you’ll be glad you chose Hunt.

What enhances an interior that is already cruise-worthy? Seamless integration of single-level deck and interior liveability. A natural flow from the helm to the open, bright salon through to the aft deck. Plentiful stowage so that everything has a place. It’s easy to share the experience of a Hunt 54′. You’ll feel as comfortable for onboard family fun or taking a trip with another couple. Store your dinnerware in any of the abundant options at an arm’s length away. Or, leave it on display in your custom-engineered drying rack, hidden by a handsome teak front. With perfect angles, water drains directly into the sink, leaving your counters free of spills and clutter. Centrally located,a drawer-style refrigerator sits beneath even more unobstructed counter space. Hugged by the backsplash, bottles stay in place during the ride. Afterward, drop the anchor and mix a drink, no clean-up required.
Our Ocean Series line of luxury offshore yachts are constructed overseas in Kaoshiung, Taiwan, the epicenter of high-end yacht building in Asia, and shipped to Rhode Island for commissioning and sea trials. The facility is a very modern one and the work of their craftsmen is nothing short of brilliant. In 2013, Hunt Yachts became a part of The Hinckley Company. It is a historic melding of two of the great influences, those of Henry R. Hinckley and C. Raymond Hunt, in American boatbuilding. This relationship benefits our owners by providing a rich pool of talent which informs both boatbuilding and after-market service. Hunt owners are welcomed at any of Hinckley’s seven service locations from Maine to Florida for service, maintenance and hospitality.
